Yellow Aster Butte

This month we return to the North Cascades to paint at one of the most beautiful areas, Yellow Aster Butte. A wonderland of huge glacier-wrapped peaks, glassy reflective tarns, and golden red fall foliage, this popular place is a painter's dream. Because I was on a backpacking trip and needed to balance painting time with hiking and exploring (and it was very hot outside!), the underlying focus of all three paintings is simplicity and speed. Each watercolor is about 30 minutes, and you can choose your own adventure and paint whichever are the most interesting to you!
