In this two-part class we explore the patterns of Escalante region of southern Utah. First, we create an ink-only sketch of a huge ponderosa pine tree nestled in a fascinating slickrock basin with curving yellow stone. And second, we paint unique stone hoodoo formations with minimal ink lines combined with watercolor. Each painting is a practice of simplification and experimenting with different mediums.
